The STA (Swimming Teachers Association) has partnered with GreenTech International to deliver a free webinar exploring the hidden impact of biofilms on swimming pool water quality and performance.
The 45-minute session, Biofilms in Swimming Pools: The Hidden Challenge Affecting Water Quality and Pool Performance, will take place at 11am on 28 July 2026.
The webinar will be delivered by GreenTech International founder and CEO James Lee alongside STA Pool Plant Tutor Chris Bateman.
“Biofilms are a slimy and resilient community of microorganisms offering protection for legionella and pseudomonas aeruginosa that stick to pipework, balance tanks, filters, equipment pool walls and many other surfaces,” explains James.
“They are a problem because they degrade water quality, spread harmful bacteria and reduce the shelf life of plant equipment.
“For years operators have accepted living with the daily challenge of biofilm control but the reality is that biofilms are entirely preventable. This webinar will explain how that is possible.”
